University Applications
Find the right course, build a strong application and move forward with confidence.
Choosing a university is only the beginning. You also need to understand entry requirements, prepare accurate documents, meet deadlines and present your experience and ambitions clearly.
Study With FM provides personalised university application support, from exploring courses and planning your applications to preparing submissions and reviewing offers. You work with a named adviser who understands your circumstances and helps you keep the process organised.
Why this matters
University applications can feel complicated when you are making important decisions at the same time. You may be wondering:
- Which course, university or country best suits your qualifications, interests and future plans?
- Where do you meet the entry requirements, and would a foundation or pathway programme be more appropriate?
- Which deadlines, documents, references, statements, tests or interviews apply to you?
- How should you compare tuition costs, funding opportunities and offers?
- What will you need to do after receiving an admission decision?
We help turn these questions into a practical application plan.
What you can expect
Our aim is to help you move forward with:
- A clearer understanding of suitable courses, universities and application routes.
- A realistic shortlist informed by your academic profile, priorities and budget.
- A plan for requirements, documents, deadlines and any additional selection stages.
- Well-prepared applications that accurately reflect your qualifications and experience.
- A better understanding of your offers, conditions and next steps.
We can improve how your applications are planned and prepared, but admission decisions always rest with the relevant institution.
What is included — and what is not
Support that may be included
Depending on your needs, chosen institutions and agreed service, we can help with:
- Academic profile review: understanding your qualifications, grades, subject interests and study goals.
- Course and university selection: researching options and comparing entry requirements, locations, course structures and costs.
- Application planning: building a shortlist and identifying application routes, deadlines and required materials.
- Application preparation: reviewing forms, organising documents and coordinating genuine academic or professional references.
- Written applications: developing and reviewing personal statements, motivation letters, application questions and relevant CVs.
- Selection preparation: understanding interview formats, admissions tests, portfolios and other published requirements.
- Submission and follow-up: guiding you through submission or submitting on your behalf where authorised and permitted, with progress follow-up when agreed.
- Offers and funding: helping you understand offer conditions, compare options and identify relevant scholarship or bursary opportunities.
The exact activities and number of applications covered will be agreed with you before work begins. Not every activity is part of every service arrangement.
What is not automatically included
Unless expressly agreed, our university application support does not cover:
- University or application-platform fees, tuition fees or enrolment deposits.
- Language tests, admissions tests, examinations or credential-evaluation fees.
- Certified translations, specialist tutoring, portfolio production or clinical assessments.
- Separate scholarship applications or specialist research and test-preparation services.
- Visa or government fees, regulated immigration advice, insurance, flights, accommodation or relocation costs.
- Other third-party charges or additional Study With FM services.
We do not guarantee admission, a particular offer, scholarship funding, a visa or any decision made by a university or other organisation.
How the process works
Consultation and profile review
We discuss your academic background, qualifications, intended level of study, interests, preferred destinations, budget and target intake.
Course and university research
We explore relevant programmes and compare options against your goals and published entry requirements.
Application strategy
Together, we identify suitable choices, application routes, deadlines and anything you need to prepare before applying.
Documents and written applications
We help you organise the necessary information, plan written responses and check application materials for accuracy and completeness.
Application submission and coordination
Depending on the university, application system and agreed service, we either guide you through submitting your own application or coordinate submission on your behalf where authorised. Where application management is included, we can follow available updates and requests for further information.
Interviews and additional selection
If your programme requires an interview, test, portfolio or other assessment, we help you understand the requirements and plan your preparation.
Offers and decisions
We help you make sense of conditional or unconditional offers, outstanding requirements, response deadlines and the choices available to you.
After your offer
Where relevant, we can discuss separate support for administrative visa applications, accommodation, accessibility arrangements, pre-departure preparation and relocation.
When should you start?
There is no single timeline for every applicant. Deadlines differ by country, university, course, study level and intake. The time needed also depends on documents, references, tests, interviews and how quickly the required information is available.
Starting early is especially important for competitive programmes, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, Oxford or Cambridge, scholarship applications, portfolios and postgraduate research. International students should also allow time for any post-offer requirements.
We help you identify the deadlines relevant to your applications, but submission and admissions times remain subject to the applicable university or admissions system.
What we need from you
We begin with enough information to understand your plans. Depending on the application, we may ask for:
- Your academic history, current qualifications and achieved or predicted grades.
- Your preferred subjects, study level, destinations and intended intake.
- Your approximate budget and any interest in scholarships or funding.
- Relevant English-language results, employment, volunteering or extracurricular experience.
- Academic records, certificates, a CV, portfolio or research interests where required.
- Genuine referee details and information about previous applications where relevant.
Some applications later require identification or passport information. We will explain what is needed for the relevant process. You may also tell us about any disability, special educational needs or accessibility requirements that affect your choices or application arrangements.
All application information and documents must be accurate and genuine. You do not need to upload sensitive documents simply to request an introductory consultation.
Who this service is for
Our university application service supports students at different stages, including:
- School-leavers and applicants preparing for a first undergraduate degree.
- International students considering universities in the UK or other destinations we support.
- Students who are uncertain about their course, country or entry route.
- Applicants considering foundation programmes, International Year One or pre-master's pathways.
- Postgraduate and research applicants who need help navigating programme-specific requirements.
- Applicants to medicine and other competitive or interview-based courses.
Where an applicant is under 18, we involve a parent or guardian as appropriate.
A named adviser throughout your application
Every university application client is assigned a named adviser. This gives you a consistent point of contact who understands your goals, the applications you are working on and the next steps you need to take.
Our application support in more detail
Initial academic review
Before suggesting universities, we consider your qualifications, grades, academic interests, future plans, destination preferences and budget. Where relevant, we also discuss English-language requirements, prior applications, extracurricular activities and any accessibility considerations you choose to share.
Course and university research
We help you compare courses by their content, entry criteria, duration, fees, location, student support and progression opportunities. Rankings can be useful, but they are only one factor. You make the final choice of where and what to study.
A realistic application strategy
Your shortlist may include more ambitious options alongside courses that align closely with your current qualifications, plus suitable alternatives. We identify published prerequisites, application routes, deadlines and additional requirements so that you can plan each application properly. A place on a shortlist is not a promise of admission.
Application preparation and submission
We can review application details, organise supporting materials, help you navigate application platforms and coordinate submissions when authorised. Some applications are submitted directly by students; others can be managed with our assistance, depending on the institution, system and service agreed.
We never invent qualifications, grades, references, achievements or experience, and we do not impersonate applicants or referees.
Personal statements and written responses
We help you understand application questions, select relevant evidence, organise your ideas and improve clarity and expression while keeping the final work authentic to you.
For UCAS undergraduate applications from 2026 entry onwards, the personal statement consists of three structured questions, with a 4,000-character limit in total (including spaces) and a minimum of 350 characters per response. We can help you plan and review your answers, but they must reflect your own experiences and motivations.
Documents and references
Requirements vary by institution and programme. They may include transcripts, certificates, predicted grades, language-test evidence, a CV, a portfolio, a research proposal, identification documents or academic and professional references.
We help you understand what is required and coordinate the paperwork. References must come from genuine, appropriate referees, and any assessed work must be your own.
Interviews, tests and portfolios
For programmes with interviews or additional selection stages, we can help you understand the published format, practise interview responses and plan around test, portfolio or audition deadlines. Specialist tutoring, producing assessed work and sitting assessments on your behalf are not included in standard application support.
Undergraduate applications and UCAS
We support undergraduate applications through UCAS where appropriate, as well as direct applications to universities and institutions in other countries.
Key UCAS dates for 2027 entry
| Date | What it means |
|---|---|
| 15 October 2026, 18:00 UK time | The equal-consideration deadline for Oxford and Cambridge and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine/science courses. This deadline has passed. |
| 13 January 2027, 18:00 UK time | The equal-consideration deadline for most other undergraduate courses. |
| 30 June 2027, 18:00 UK time | Applications received after this point are entered into Clearing. |
| 23 September 2027, 18:00 UK time | The final UCAS application deadline for 2027 entry. |
A late application may still be possible for some courses, subject to availability and the institution's decision. Schools and colleges may set earlier internal deadlines. Check the requirements of your chosen course and the latest official UCAS dates and deadlines.
Postgraduate and PhD applications
We also support postgraduate applicants with programme research, entry-requirement checks, academic CVs, statements of purpose, references, research interests and application preparation. Many master's and PhD programmes use their own application systems and deadlines.
For more specialised support, see Postgraduate & PhD Applications.
Foundation and pathway programmes
If you do not yet meet direct-entry requirements, we can help you explore suitable foundation courses, international foundation programmes, International Year One, pre-master's programmes and other preparation routes. We look at progression conditions, language requirements and the relationship between the pathway and intended degree before recommending an option for further consideration.
Medical school applications
Medical applications can involve different academic requirements, admissions tests, interviews and professional recognition considerations. We can help you research suitable options and prepare for the applicable admissions process.
Medical schools we currently work with include:
- Saba University School of Medicine
- St Matthew's University
- Medical University of the Americas (MUA)
These institutions have different requirements. Applicants should also check how a medical qualification may be recognised in any country where they intend to practise. Admission is determined by each medical school.
Universities we work with
Study With FM works with and supports applications to universities and education providers across a range of study destinations. The most suitable options depend on your qualifications, preferred subject, ambitions, budget and destination. The nature of our relationship with an institution may differ, and being able to support an application does not necessarily mean we are an official partner of that university.
Offers, decisions and scholarships
We can help you understand conditional and unconditional offers, academic or language conditions, outstanding documents, deadlines and any required deposits. Where you have more than one offer, we can help you compare the course, location, costs and other factors that matter to you.
We can also help identify relevant scholarships, bursaries or funding opportunities and explain their published eligibility criteria and deadlines. Any separate scholarship-application support must be agreed in advance. Funding decisions are made by the relevant institution or organisation; awards cannot be guaranteed.
International students and visa applications
University admission and permission to enter or remain in a country are separate decisions. After an offer, we may provide administrative visa application support, such as explaining published steps, organising required information and coordinating practical paperwork.
Study With FM is not registered with the UK Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) and does not provide regulated UK immigration advice. Matters requiring such advice should be referred to an appropriately authorised adviser. An offer of admission does not guarantee a visa.
Fees and third-party costs
Our initial introductory consultation is free.
Study With FM does not automatically charge a service fee for university application support. University application support may be offered as a competitively priced paid service, depending on what is required. We explain the scope of support, any Study With FM fee and what is included before work begins.
University application charges, tests, tuition fees, deposits, translations, visa charges and other third-party costs may still be payable separately, including where our support has a service fee. We will help you understand which costs are separate from our service.
